Most likely the mascot suits are provided for you.  I have seen mascots that hold up signs on the side of the road advertising for places.  You might be doing something else, but I have a feeling that is the job that you will be doing.   It may not be something as fun as working with children or entertaining.  I don't want to discourage anyone if they want to go for it.  It sounds like it could be fun.  I may be completely off base on this one.
