Hi everyone,

Some of you know I'm involved with Midwest Shiba Inu rescue 
(www.shibarescue.org).  I try not to do this too much (posting to this
list about dogs up for adoption), but there are certain cases that
just need a special home.

If you're not aware of what a Shiba Inu is, it's a Japanese spitz breed
(think "small Akita").  You can see more about them on the website, above.

Anyway, I have a foster that is in need of a special home.  Nissa (nee-sah)
is approximately 2 years old and it's obvious she was once someone's pet.
She loves people (wants to be petted all the time), loves playing and
running, and even knows some tricks (she offers her paws to "shake", for
example).  However, she's also a "convicted felon".  That is, she has a
history of very aggressive behaviour to other animals (dogs, especially).
Although animal agressiveness is a breed characteristic, hers is extreme.
Her temperment, otherwise, is rocksolid.  She's just a "lover", and that's
what's saved her from being euthanized (our organization does not accept
unstable temperment dogs, nor do we adopt them out).

So, what Nissa needs is a single-animal home with people who want to shower
her with attention.

Most Shibas look similar to foxes or Chows, but Nissa resembles nothing so
much as a small American Eskimo Husky.  You can find more about her here:

The adoption fee is normally $350, and includes us having had all her 
medicals current and her spaying.

Again, I apologise for the off-topic.  Flame me if you must, but I just
feel that every once in a while there's a special dog who needs a special
home and I know many Furries can provide that special home.
