I'd absolutely love a gaming event. I've already sent an email to you, and I'd like to send another one to the list to get peoples' opinion on a game I'd like to bring if this does get started.
Behold, Phantasy Star Online Episode 3: C.A.R.D Revolution.

The game is as awesome as it's name is long, believe me. It could be longer if I included the meaning of the letters C.A.R.D.
Phantasy Star Online Episode 3: Compressed Alternate Reality Data Revolution. Haha!!
Yes, it is a card game. But a really fun one.

Subject: [LAFF] New gaming event in the works
Hi all,
I am gauging interest in a new meet. Nothing is official at all yet, I'm
just looking to see if enough people want a new Chicago area event like
I'm proposing.
It occurs to me that there aren't any meets that specifically cater to
video gamers, yet video gamers make up the majority of the fandom. The
focus of such an event would be multi-player gaming. One possibility is
to have a Smash Bros. Melee tournament, much like I ran at MFF to a very
strong turnout (and of course we never have as much time as we want for
that event at MFF). However I have all the consoles and am open to
suggestions here.
A few examples of things that won't be happening are PC games/LAN party
or DDR. This would be strictly a console gaming event (although my Xbox
has a virtual-console-on-steroids deal with practically every classic
games pre-1995 should anyone be interested in that).
Up to 6 or so could fit comfortably in my apartment (with plasma TV +
dolby surround), and the location would be near Oak Brook Center in IL.
If the group gets above that we might need different accomodations and I
will figure that out if I get a large group interested. There won't be
any admission charge. (Parking is free and ample here so you needn't
worry about that either.)
I would like you to e-mail me directly at Timoran at GadgetScope.com if you
would be interested in such a meet - and let me know what kind of games
you'd like to play, what time/day you'd like the event to run
(definitely will not be held during regular business hours because I
work), and any other suggestions. If this is wanted it will become an event.
Sincerely,
Timoran
