[LAFF] Wikification, indeed!

We've been getting this ready for the official announcement, but it looks like we've been outed early! Ah well, we're freaks and geeks, we should be used to being outed in unexpected circumstances, heh. May as well let the catgirl out of the bag.

We would like to present to you, the members of the LAFF, our new,
user-friendly, community run LAFF home page! Our new site is
member-centric, which means it's run with the members in mind, for the
members, and by the members. We decided to create the new site in the
form of a wiki in order to give the members direct input of what goes
in. The site is primarily a site about the members, functions and
social on-goings of the Lake Area Furry Friends. It is designed so
that people can share their bio', contact information, and locate
local furry fans in order to facilitate meet-ups and events. All
member pages are arranged so that no anonymous user can make edit
changes to them. Registration is required to make any changes and to
discourage random vandalism. It's important to stress then, that in
the spirit of a wiki, this site aims to hold a neutral point of view.
Articles should attribute opinion to people or groups rather than
stating it as fact. Disagreements should be characterized - stating
all positions - rather than continued there.

It's also to important to emphasize that this site is neither WikiFur
or Wikipedia. Feel free to share your information with those sites as
well, but as a whole, this is a social site! It is also important to
remember that this is the new site! The old catbox site is no more
now, so update your bookmarks accordingly! The calendar will still be
around though!

To begin contributing to the new site, you will first need to register
an account at http://laff.tixen.net/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&type=signup.
Once registered you are first encouraged to create a profile about
yourself. This can be done simply by
http://laff.tixen.net/index.php/YourName and clicking the edit tab on
the top of that page. Your profile should have some basic biographical
information on you. Alternatively, you can choose to open up your
userpage at http://laff.tixen.net/index.php/User:YourName. This page
should have contact info' and should resemble a profile page of sorts.
Pretty much like a LJ bio' will work fine here.  These userpage can
also be blocked by request from anonymous viewing in case you are
concerned about having your e-mail address or other personal
information distributed. We've offered some sample templates in the
works for you to use at both
http://laff.tixen.net/index.php/Lake_Area_Furry_Friends:Sandbox and
http://laff.tixen.net/index.php/Templates. Remember, the more complete
the list we have, the more we can learn about who all is on our list.
If you need any help, we have a more than competent staff of admin's
with expertise ranging from coding to wiki content, who will be glad
to check over things for you and make sure everything's all right. We
also offer a  Book of Style to help you create your page.
