The follow are important announcements concerning the next FCF Basic
Wild/Exotic Feline Husbandry Course scheduled Saturday, April 25, hosted by
Panther Ridge Conservation Center.
The course location has been moved to the Panther Ridge Conservation Center,
14755 Palm Beach Point Blvd., Wellington, Florida
The class starts at 8:00 am and runs till 5:00 pm.
The registration fee is $95 FCF-members, $130 others.
(registration fee includes lunch and a 149-page textbook)
Lodging nearby is: Holiday Inn, 561-968-5000

(both motels are on Lake Worth Road, right by the Turnpike)
Airport: West Palm Beach, just 25 minutes away.
This course covers wild feline species, regulatory agencies, facility
design, nutrition, health care, behavior conditioning, handling equipment
and contingency planning.

On Sunday, April 26, students may return to tour Panther Ridge Conservation
Center, home to cheetah, jaguar, puma, panther, ocelot, serval and caracal
to learn about the Center's enclosures, felines, enrichments, and husbandry
practices. $15.00 tour fee charged.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission are proposing new standards for
employees and volunteers who work around wildlife and this course offers a
perfect learning opportunity. The Basic Exotic/Wild Feline Husbandry Course
has been recently completely updated making the course more valuable than
ever. The nutrition section covers new materials on calcium and vitamins and
diet designs. Health care has been updated with new information too. There
are dozens of new photos of cages, fencing, materials and enrichments in the
Facility section. The feline species section has better photos and better
range maps. The student textbook is now 149-pages chock full of useful
information to take home for future reference.
