Salmon oil (or any fish oil) would be ideal for the big cats since they can utilize the Omega fatty acids from it, but it may not be too cost effective. Corn oil would be second choice (cheaper). I would stay away from Flax seed oil or Borage oil since cats lack the enzymes to break those down. Hope that helps! Fat has about twice as many calories per pound as carbohydrates or proteins. Is there a reason why your cat needs more calories -- being outdoors or losing weight? In 2010 we are planning our theme as 'The Art of The Wild Cat'. We are requesting submissions from artists for consideration. In years past we have self-published the calendar. This coming year we are also investigating a relationship with a publishing company which would greatly increase the visibility of the calendar in major book stores, etc. We would be pleased if you (or an artist you know) would consider participating in this project.
