Set out a smooth sided container such as a ceramic coated mop sink or a
smooth 55 gal steel drum.  Fill half full with water, not more than 6-8
inches from the top.  Place a board up and over the edge like a
ramp/diving board.  Sprinkle liberal amounts of corn, feed, etc. on the
surface floating on top of the water.  Each morning load drowned rats.
If conventional rat traps can be used without harming other animals, set
traps using bait of peanutbutter mixed with flour.  Mush mixture into
the bait tongue, and it will harden.  Each morning load smashed rat.
