SANTA BARBARA
She was one of the oldest living lions in captivity but at 22-years-old,
zoologists in Santa Barbara say the African lioness could no longer live a healthy
life.
Kali, a long time Santa Barbara Zoo resident, was put to sleep Tuesday after
complications from kidney failure.
Zoologists say Kali was the second oldest lion in captivity.
She arrived at the Santa Barbara Zoo in 1985, when she was just 10-weeks-old.
