[FEL-L] The future

I always thought the British, with their love of animals, would rebel
against such things but it looks like the anti-animal crowd has used their
feelings against them.
It's not unique. We see it here, among our own groups. People who should
know better and object instead cheer laws and regulations that target
owners.
Then one day it is on them.
I think the problem is that these things are _always_ sold as being _good_
for animals and that people are afraid to speak against them because they
fear being accused of being "pro-cruelty." Look at the wars on the lists
over similar measures.
People get cowed into silence and meekly give up their rights.
We need to stand up and say "NO!" very loudly when these things come up and
join with anyone else who will oppose it.
If we don't - and soon - we will lose all ability to have any animal. The
foundation is already in place. The building upon it must be stopped.
Sure, it won't be this year or the next but it is not as far off as many
imagine either. The time to nip these things is in the bud, before roots go
too deep to pull out.
