I am afraid I have to agree with Vernon Weir on this one - Pat is just trying to scare people into donations. That or he has cruel intentions. He has very rudely spurned a few people who have voiced concern and could have donated. He doesn't act like someone who is really concerned about saving animals.
He has had offers from several people to take animals and has refused every one. Either nobody is good enough for him or he really isn't as bad off as he pretends. All he will talk about is money.
But he's making such a big thing out of it that he either has to close or be totally discredited when he doesn't. This makes every sanctuary look bad. Ones that really do have a crisis will be tainted by these actions.
Or is that his _real_ goal? Make as terrible a crisis as he can, kill some animals for theater, and leave those he feels did not $upport him looking bad while he reincorporates with the remainder? Will it even come to that much?
It's Pat that has "problems", not you or the others.
He's a collector/hoarder who wants to be paid and honored for it. I think we are getting a view into the mindset of many of these people.
The "Closure Video" is mis-named. It really is a donation video. All it talks about is raising money. 3/4 of it is a music video of pictures of animals set to a song whining about support. It does not even mention closure.
It is in WMV format and should play in Windows Media Player or QuickTime Player. However, it is HUGE - over 15MB and 7 minutes long - so it may take forever to download and seem to not be working. People don't expect these things to be so big and elaborate.
Pat's real plans are known only to him and his immediate insiders. They will become plain at some point but we will be in suspense until then.
This is worrisome to all lovers of these animals but they are in his hands and not ours. We can't do anything for them that he won't allow. He has decided on a plan but is not telling us what it really is.
All we can do is watch and be ready to act if it gets taken out of his hands. I doubt USDA will be pleased with threats to kill tigers.

I was wondering if any one has had the chance to look at the closing video on Pat's place in Co;orado? It will down load but I get a black screen. I have tried to email Pat about this but I think he has my email address blocked because he said I am a paranoid person because I had to leave two of my tigers at his place a year ago and one of them is a golden tabby tiger, Both tigers were like my children so I guess that does make me want to know what is going on with them. I also have requested that if they go to a new home that I want to know where they are going to. and if he infacts puts the animals down that I want to bring them home to bury them here where they belong. Does this make any sence to you or am I PARANOID???
