It is against the law to declaw any exotic cat in calif. That includes F1 to
F3 hybrids too.

That brings a new element to the debate. Presently,
there are no laws preventing any owner of an animal to
administer any veterinary procedures including
de-claw. This was previously discussed regarding
owners
attending to their farm animals. There are animal
cruelty laws but they are difficult to prosecute and
only carry minimal penalties.
Before someone misconstrues this as always seems to
happen, private individuals may not practice
veterinary
medicine on any animal, but this does not preclude the
owner. "Practice" in it's legal form does not mean the
owner administering to his/her animal. Just another
reason to abolish the procedures of declaw as it would
then be a violation without the difficulty in
prosecuting animal cruelty.
