Gary,
This person who was selling servals as Savanahs...were they in Calif? I
heard of someone doing that so they were 'legal' since the servals were not
here.

HI Brian,
Thanks for the info. Sorry I got you mixed up with Larry Bucks. Also
thanks for taking the time to break down and email the declaw reference on
big cat attacks. I know you did not call Jan a whore. My statement was "A
whore of mutilated big cats? I DONT THINK SO".
That blanket statement can apply to anyone in the world that sells
animals for profit. I raise and sell savannah cats. Does that make me a
whore of Savannahs. I dont think so. I have raised and sold Geoffroys and
Servals and Jungle cats also. Does that make me a small cat whore. Again, I
dont think so.
I think the the term whore when applied to selling an animal is harsh.
Here is a good example of a cat whore. There is a lady that had some illegal
servals. So she got them registered as high % savannahs. 96 % I think. She
has 2 or 3 generations of servals registered as savannahs. She sold some of
the PURE servals as savannah hybrids to some unsuspecting people.
The term big cat whore can also apply to people that exhibit them.
Either on site or taking them out. They are doing it for profit. Does that
make them a cat whore. I dont think so.
The only exception I see is when the person is unethical. We all have
our opinions on things and not everyone is going to agree with them.
Declawing is a very touchy subject. Personally I dont declaw my cats. There
are a couple I should have and I have had some declawed when I first got
into wild cats and hybrids. Of course my cats were small cats and that makes
a huge difference. My cats dont have 300 to 500 pounds of pressure being put
on thier feet all the time.
I hope we can all agree to disagree and start playing nice. It doesnt
make for a fun and informative list when all are agueing.
Gary

Nope on the insurance, that was not me that was trying to do the
insurance. You must be thinking of that guy Larry Bucks in NY.
As for being mean, well Jan's known for her undignified approaches in
the past as well. And I didnt say she was the whore, I said that she whored
her cats out to be worked by others.
On the proof of de-claws referenced on big cat attacks, I'll break them
down and mail them in the AM. Only a hand full had claws, very very few from
the past 20-or so years of big cat attacks.

WOW, That was one mean and nasty email Brian. Of course I dont ! believe
a
word of it.
Jan has been a wonderful asset for me in my ongoing learning about wild
cats
these last 12 years. Im sorry you are so bitter towards her. I have
never
bought a cat from Jan nor has she bought one from me. But she has ALWAYS
been there to answer questions for me all these years and has never once
asked for anything in return.
A whore of mutilated big cat? I DONT THINK SO.By the way. Weren't you
the one that was trying to get the liability
insurance for animal people. What ever happened with that if it was you?
